The existing O.P.I. dental practice in Darmstadt - a centre for dentistry and surgery - was refurbished and redesigned in several construction phases. In order to keep the practice running at all times, the space was remodelled in sections in close consultation with the practice team. A new reception welcomes patients directly in the entrance area. The central atrium opposite has been converted into a waiting area with a new glass roof and provides daylight in all areas thanks to all-round glazing. In addition to the refurbishment of existing treatment rooms, new rooms were created, the X-ray room was moved to another location and a larger sterilisation room was created. The back office, meeting room and kitchen were redesigned to improve the workflow of the practice team. There are additional waiting areas for patients, new sanitary facilities and a dental care room. The colour concept with sage green, matching grey tones and light wood surfaces in ash gives the O.P.I. its new overall look. Rounded walls and furniture, together with long lines of light, lead through the large open areas and constantly open up new views into the different areas of the practice.Â
